Wednesday May 6, noon-1 pm

Grow with Google: Manage Your Business Remotely in Times of Uncertainty Livestream. As part of Small Business Week, Grow with Google is presenting this livestream covering tools, tips, and resources to help you manage your business remotely during the COVID-19 crisis. Learn how to update critical business information online to keep customers informed, and how to host virtual meetings and events.

Sip & Scribble

Come get your creativity going, let’s chat, have a few laughs, all while sipping on whatever tasty beverage you’ve got at home (optional - your choice)! We’ll use videoconferencing to connect with one another in a casual, relaxed, judgment-free environment.

For adults only, please. No art skills or special materials required: this is just for fun.

Reading Challenge Roundup

Have you been participating in the 2020 Reading Challenge but miss the chance to talk with others about the books you’ve been reading and what looks good for next month? Check in with staff from the library and other readers at this virtual meeting.

Cozy Tech Hour

In a virtual group setting, get some basic help on your tech questions, start getting comfy with videoconferencing, and seize this opportunity to gripe about some of your latest tech challenges, plus share some cool tech solutions you’ve discovered. We’ll chat about all things tech-related in a casual, relaxed, judgment-free environment. For adults of all tech-experience levels

Every Wednesday Amy Schumann, Head of Reference, will post a new video about one of the library’s online databases. Learn how to use our great online information to your advantage. Would you like a brief e-mail every day highlighting an event and/or service of the library? Go to https://chboothlibrary.org/sign-up-for-sunshine/ to subscribe.

Since April 1, we’ve been having a community stay-at-home activity, Together Apart Newtown! Each day we will post a free online activity for adults. We hope you will participate, then comment on the activity. Some of the activities are time sensitive (it is up to the institution or artist), some will be up for awhile.

Hoopla Book Club

Download Marie-Renee Lavoie's "Autopsy of a Boring Wife, then connect digitally to discuss it. Register at eventkeeper.com/code/ekform.cfm?curOrg=CHBOOTH&curlD=437473 to get the link the day before; download the book at theclub.hoopladigital.com.

For children:

Our children’s department misses our younger patrons. While we cannot see you face to face in person yet, every weekday we have something for you on our Facebook page.

*Mondays — Lego Club leader Ms Martine will post a new Lego building challenge on the library’s Facebook page.

*Tuesdays — You may be sick of your backyard, let Miss Nora show you hers. See Miss Nora as she explores her backyard with pictures and questions about the animals and plants springing up. Enjoy a recommended book on the theme of the day on TumbleBooks through the library website.

*Wednesdays — Mother Goose at home with Miss Nora. Join Miss Nora for songs and rhymes with puppet friends from the library. This is pitched at ages 0-3.

*Thursdays — Miss Lana and Friends. Miss Lana is working from home, but she’s not alone. Her puppet friends are being taken care of, don’t you worry! For ages 2-5.

*Fridays — What is Mrs Morin Reading? As you know, Mrs Morin is always reading a good book. What does she do when the library is closed? She reads e-books of course! Every Friday, Mrs Morin will share her top picks on Facebook for readers of all ages.
