Organized and sponsored by Maple Craft Foods, Superior Remodelers, and Associated Refuse, in coordination with Newtown Human Services, residents are invited to bring refundable plastic bottles and cans to a No-Touch, Drive Through Plastic Bottle, Can, and Food Drive on Saturday, May 9, from 9 am to 1 pm, at the Reed Intermediate School bus loop, behind the school.

Returnable glass items will not be collected. Plastics and cans must be separated into separate bags.

Donations of bagged or boxed packaged foods, personal items, pet food, and household supplies will also be collected. Donations go directly to FAITH Food Pantry, Church Hill Road.

The bottles and cans will be transported to a recycling center in Stratford to be counted and exchanged for cash that will be donated to FAITH Food Pantry, along with the food collected.
