Summer Classes For Kids

WOODBURY — “Earth Doctors,” a new series of fun and exciting classes, will bring young minds to a new level of thinking at Flanders Nature Center. As children become aware of their surroundings they will discover the wonderful entities that make up our environment.

Each class includes a story that is specific to the topic of the day, several fun environmental experiments, and all students will receive a take-home project from the day’s class.

Themes for the classes are May 21 and 22, “Uncovering the Mysteries of the Rainforest”; June 4 and 5, “Fun in the Sun,” where students will bake marshmallows in the sun, develop a photo from a negative, and learn about ultraviolet light by using a unique solar bead bracelet; and June 11 and 12, “Ladybug! Ladybug!”
