Whether large-scale corporate affairs, pop-in lunches for offices and clients, weddings, graduation parties, anniversaries, or seasonal gatherings at your home, a local hall, or rented space — Nick’s Catering is the only call you need to make for the best in local Italian and classic American cuisine.

You can either pick up your orders from Nick’s convenient Newtown location, or book them to handle all the cooking, delivery, and event catering services. No matter the celebration, Nick’s Catering has been satisfying hungry guests by serving up tasty selections as good as mama used to make for over three decades.

Partners and brothers Frank and Victor DeGirolamo began building their experience and menu when they established Nick’s Restaurant on Starr Street in Danbury as the place to go for satisfying Italian dishes and desserts. But eventually, they decided it was time to transform their business and focus on their specialty: buffet catering.

Now known as Nick’s Catering, the DeGirolamo brothers still serve up the same quality, great-tasting food their former business was known for — but today, they do it all right from their home town at 31 Pecks Lane.

This location serves as their base of operations for preparing all their catered meals as well as where people pick up their orders; in addition, you can also pop in for takeout lunches that are available in single servings between 11 am and 1 pm weekdays.

People can also meet the staff of Nick’s Catering and pick up individual portioned food to-go when visiting their booth at the farmers markets in Newtown, Bethel, Monroe, and Southbury. Most markets will be continuing throughout October.

The full catering menu includes everything from delicious hot food classics such as eggplant Parmigiana and a huge range of pasta dishes to American-style sandwich platters. Depending on the tastes and preferences of the clientele, Nick’s Catering will tailor its menu and service options to meet individual needs — with gluten-free options available.

Pickup and delivery catering can be done regardless of the size of the event, as Nick’s Catering has no maximum and has catered parties as large as 750 people. There is also free delivery offered for orders of $300 or more.

Nick’s Catering can also handle your full-service on-site catering needs for any special events from high school and college graduations, weddings, bridal or baby showers, and rehearsal dinners, to business meetings, company parties, and family picnics.

Even though Nick’s no longer has an official dining area in which people can gather, the DeGirolamo brothers still offer the great taste customers remember fondly. No matter what time of year, Nick’s Catering continues to bring family and friends together to enjoy each other’s company while dining on the food they know and love.

A Sample Of The Menu

Hors D’oeuvres: Nick’s Catering offers a variety of appetizer options, including tasty stuffed mushrooms, bruschetta bread, mini-Italian meatballs, and arancini (rice balls).

Pasta: A standout pasta selection is the penne pasta with vodka sauce. There are also spaghetti, shell, and linguini pasta options.

Chicken: There are more than half a dozen chicken entrees available for catering. The chicken campagna consists of tender pieces of breaded chicken and fresh sautéed red peppers in a garlic sauce.

Seafood: A best-selling seafood selection at Nick’s Catering is the seafood imperial. It is a combination of clams, scallops, shrimp, sole, and calamari, prepared in a light pink sauce over linguini.

Nick’s Specialties: Nick’s Catering is known for its many signature dishes that they have kept by popular demand, including the eggplant ala Nick — stuffed with spinach, ricotta and mozzarella cheeses, prepared in a marinara sauce.

Vegetables: Among the different vegetable options are fresh string beans, broccoli Parmigiana, and grilled vegetables.

Salads: There are seven choices of salads listed on the catering menu, including the traditional Italian antipasto, potato salad, and Caesar salad.

Desserts: Nick’s Catering has fresh cookies and brownies available for dessert, as well as cannoli and tiramisu: Ask about other favorites or specialties.

Sauces: Each type of sauce is made on-site and sold by the quart. Choose from marinara, broccoli, meat, primavera, and tomato sauce.
