Beverly Jesse LaFlamme Dudley

Beverley Jesse LaFlamme Dudley of Newtown, passed away peacefully, at the age of 93, on January 14, 2020, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Enosburg Falls, Vt. to Edward & Jesse (Lumbra) LaFlamme.

Beverley moved to Connecticut with her husband, Raymond, to continue their life of farming. She had six children. While being a farmer’s wife and raising her children, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse, and began nursing in homes. During her career in nursing she had the privilege of taking care of many celebrities, including Helen Keller. She received a letter from the American Foundation for the Blind thanking her for her devotion and attention to detail in taking care of Helen Keller. Her kindness and patience shone through with the most difficult and tough cases in her career as a nurse.

She is survived by her children Larry and his wife, Linda, of Newtown, Wendell of Mobile, Ala., Samuel and his wife, Jean, of Gloucester, Va., and Barbara Riebe and her husband, Michael, of Sandy Hook. She has 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; son James; daughter Susan; and siblings, Roger, James, Betty, and Edward.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at 1 pm, at East Franklin Cemetery, 4610 Lake Road, Franklin, Vt.
