SOUTHBURY — The LOF Adaptive Skiers will host its third annual Lake-to-Lake Charity Bicycle Ride on Sunday, June 28. The ride starts at the Shepaug Dam Eagle Observatory and Recreation Area, on River Road in Southbury.

Online registration is $35 and no other fundraising is required. Registration is free for children under 14 years old.

The Lake-to-Lake Charity Bicycle Ride is a rain or shine event. Registration opens at 7 am.

All proceeds will help fund LOF Adaptive Skiers’ Adaptive Sports Programs.

The Ride includes 100K, 75K and 50K routes through the hills of New Haven and Litchfield Counties. A 25K route is designed as a family fun ride. A 16K option is also available for disabled cyclists.

“We’ve mapped out five different scenic route options starting from Lake Zoar that are designed for cyclists from beginner to advanced levels,” says Joel Zeisler, president of LOF Adaptive Skiers. “Our organization specializes in adaptive sports programs for the disabled, so we’ve included a 16K route option for disabled cyclists. We hope this event will attract cyclists of all abilities,” Mr Zeisler said.

Class Cycle of Southbury will be providing support for riders. Returning riders are eligible for two special drawings. Those who bring a new participant this year will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate from Class Cycle. Those who bring two new riders will be entered into a $50 gift certificate drawing from Class Cycle.
