The next program in C.H. Booth Library’s Community Conversation series has been announced for Monday, June 13.

“Community Conversation: The Nonprofit View of Race” is scheduled to take place in the meeting room of the library, 25 Main Street.

Organizers have announced the discussion will move to Edmond Town Hall if attendance necessitates a larger space.

Announced panelists will be Alex Villamil, current president of The Rotary Club of Newtown; Marie Sturdevant, longtime member of Newtown Woman’s Club; Oscar De Los Santos, president, Newtown Lions Club; and John Boccuzzi, Sr, founder and president, Friends of Newtown Seniors.

Dr Sherry Earle, teacher of the gifted at Hawley School, and Dr George A. Coleman, former commissioner of education for the State of Connecticut, will again moderate the panel.

The program is free, but registration is requested and can be done by calling 203-426-4533 or visiting chboothlibrary.org.

Community Conversations began earlier this year when the library and Newtown Board of Education launched the series via Zoom in February with “Race: More Than A Conversation” via Zoom. The second program in the series, “A Discussion of Religion and Race,” was presented in May at the library.
