Occupation: I am a realtor with William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty of Newtown.

Family: My husband, Eric, and I have two children. Jordan is 12 and Madelyn is 8 years old.

Pets: We have a mini-farm, it seems. We have ducks, chickens, rabbits, two dogs, and two cats. Our cats are Penelope and Zoë, and we have a golden retriever, Carter, and a Rottweiler, Fergie.

How long have you lived in Newtown? I grew up in Newtown and graduated from Newtown High School. Then I moved away for a while and came back about eight years ago.

What do you like to do in your free time? I am the event chairperson for Relay for Life of Newtown. And when I’m not at baseball games or riding lessons, I like to read or be outside.

What are you reading now? I read everything. I’m in a book club and we read one to two books a month. We just read The Book Thief and we are into The Other Boleyn Girl. We also just read the whole Twilight series.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? I’d have to say I’m torn between Martha’s Vineyard — my family tries to go there once a year — and my father-in-law’s house in Buceriaf, Mexico. We feel very lucky when we are invited to go there.

What is the best thing about Newtown? You feel safe here. I think there is a closeness between everybody, so your kids are always watched over by everybody else, and they know what is going on. There is also a lot for kids to do here — the Newtown Youth Academy, the walking trails, and the after school activities and camps that keeps them busy in a positive way.

What are some of the changes in town you have noticed? As a realtor, I think that the real estate has really changed since I was growing up here. There are big, beautiful houses and so many streets in town now, I could get lost. People take such good care of their properties, and take great pride in their landscaping and décor. Not that they didn’t before, but it seems different now.

If you could travel to the past or future, which would you choose? That’s easy. I would say the future. I’ve already been in the past and I want to see what’s coming. Never look back.

Do you have a personal philosophy? To thine own self be true. If you’re happy, you can make others happy. A positive attitude reflects on other people.

What is the silliest or most dangerous thing you have done? Zip-lining in Mexico! The call it a canopy, and you traverse up trees on handmade planks and then from treetop to treetop on a pulley system you are harnessed to. Looking back at the way it was constructed, I can’t believe we did that. It was insane. I’m happy I walked away from that one alive!
