A Helping Hand

From The Scouts

To the Editor:

It is with tremendous gratitude that we publicly thank the Boy Scouts of Troop 270 of Newtown and The Scatacook Chapter of the Order of the Arrow (Scouting’s Honor Society) for their efforts to assist the American Friends of Kenya in loading over 1,000 boxes (over 80,000 books) into a shipping container now bound for Kenya.

This all occurred on Saturday, May 24, between 8 and 10 am. These fine young men worked in a coordinated effort to move books donated by schools, libraries, and personal estates for such a worthy cause. Books will continue to be collected at 83 Toddy Hill Road, Sandy Hook, by American Friends of Kenya. For more information please visit our website at www.afkinc.org or call 270-9507. Books in good condition are collected 24/7 throughout the year.
