Friday, May 29: 1:37 am, alarm, 160 South Main Street, BFD; 1:54 am, CO detector, 135 Huntingtown Road, BFD, Newtown Hook & Ladder (NHL); 3:09 am, alarm, 160 South Main Street, BFD; 9:43 am, structure fire, 9 Pootatuck Trail, SHFD, BFD, NHL, Hawleyville Fire Department (HFD); 10:17 am, CO detector, 9 Bishop Circle, SHFD; 1:27 pm, investigation, 138 Louis Hill Road, SHFD; 3:52 pm, public service, 5 Beckett Village, SHFD; 4:13 pm, public service, 2 Misty Vale Road, SHFD.

Tuesday, June 2: 12:17 am, alarm, 123 Poverty Hollow Road, DFD; 1:35 pm, public service, 1 Meadow Woods Lane, SHFD; 4:23 pm, motor vehicle accident-injury, Berkshire Road at Old Mill Road, SHFD; 6:42 pm, hazardous condition, Schoolhouse Hill Road at Hanover Road, NHL.

Wednesday, June 3: 12:52 am, alarm, 10 Reservoir Road, NHL; 4:52 pm, alarm, 28 Canterbury Road, SHFD, BFD.

Newtown Police officers, Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue firefighters, and a Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps crew responded around 4:25 pm, Tuesday, June 2, to a two-vehicle accident on Berkshire Road. A Cadillac Escalade, shown here, and a Toyota SUV had collided on Berkshire just east of the road’s intersection with Old Mill Road. The drivers of both vehicles and an infant in the Escalade were all checked for injuries. The driver of the Toyota was transported to the hospital for further treatment. The accident closed the road for approximately 60 minutes. It opened for one lane of alternating traffic just before 5:30 pm, and then fully reopened after both vehicles had been towed from the scene.
