Seven friends spent part of their early summer break raising funds through a lemonade stand.

Siblings and friends Bryce and McKenna Memoli, Cecelia and James Ragusa, and Adalyn, Leanna and Lyla Wilson spent time on Thursday, June 15, operating a lemonade stand near the Ragusa home.

The following Monday afternoon they traveled to Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company’s main station, where they presented Chief Anthony Capozziello with the $200 their efforts.

“We were hoping for $50 or $75, but we got a lot of donations!” Lyla told the fire chief when handing the funds to him. The group enjoyed a brief tour of the station and learned about the work of some of the town’s volunteer firefighters during their visit to the firehouse.
