Joseph Frank Paternoster, 86, of Jacksonville, N.C., and previously of Bridgeport, died June 21. Born in Bridgeport, May 27, 1924, he was a son of Ralph and Lydia Indigo Paternoster.

Three children, including Carl Paternoster, and his wife, Lynn, of Sandy Hook; six siblings; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive Mr Paternoster. He was predeceased by his wife, Edith Tomasini Paternoster; and five siblings.

Mr Paternoster was a US Army veteran of World War II.

Funeral services will take place Friday, June 25, at 10 am, from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 am in St Patrick Church, Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Friday morning from 9 to 10 am.
