July 2 – Cricker Brook Farm in Monroe will host a CHJA, CHSA, NEHC horse show on Saturday, July 2. Call 268-6676 for information and a prize list.

July 2 – Windcrest Farm in Hebron will sponsor a CHSA, CHJA, NEHC and MHJ show on Saturday, July 2. Call 860-228-9480.

July 3 – Fortunate Farm in Haddam Neck will sponsor a CHSA show on Sunday, July 3. Call 203-637-5249.

July 3-5 – The Farmington Horse Show will be held Sunday, July 3 through Tuesday, July 5, at the Farmington Polo Club. The show is USEF A Rated with stakes classes. Call 860-677-8427.

July 7-10 – The Westbrook Hunt Club will hold a CHSA show beginning Thursday, July 7, and running through Sunday, July 10. Call 860-399-6317.

July 8-10 – Red Horse Stables in Woodbury will hold a Centerline Events Dressage and Breed Show Friday, July 8, through Sunday, July 10. Call 860-210-0371.

July 9 – The Bethlehem Horse Show will be held Saturday, July 9, at the Morris Equestrian Center on Route 61 in Bethlehem. The show will start at 8 am, rain or shine (indoor ring available), and food and beverages will be available all day. Judging will be performed by Karen von Bachelle. Free admission. Divisions will include Micro, Walk/Trot, Short Stirrup, Green Hunter, Low Hunter, Suitable Hunter, Equitation, Adult and Pleasure. July 23 – The New London Country 4-H Expo Horse Show with 4-H and Open classes will be held Saturday, July 23, at the North Stonington Grange Grounds in North Stonington. Call 860-885-2824.

July 24 – The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard will hold its annual Horse Show on Sunday, July 24, at 8 am, at its facility on the grounds of Fairfield Hills. July 31 – Brushy Hill Farm on Coachmans Drive in Southbury will host a Two Phase-Combined Event on Sunday, July 31 The show will consist of Elementary (novice test A and jump course 2-0), Beginner/Novice (novice test A and jump course 2-3), and Novice (novice test B and jump course 2-6). Riders may choose Dressage only or Jumping only. There will also be a special Walk/Trot division for beginner riders. Closing date is July 28. Times will be available by phone on July 29. August 16 – The Newtown Bridle Lands Association will hold its next monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 16. Time and location TBA. Bob Nute, a longtime Newtown resident who has been a member of the Newtown Hook & Ladder for more than 30 years, will present a program on Stable Fire Safety.
