Woman Of The Year

Arlene Coyle, 84, of Brookfield, died after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family, June 24. She was the wife of the late Richard Coyle. Mrs Coyle was born January 3, 1926, in Syracuse, N.Y., daughter of Mary (Shanahan) Hartnett and John Lambert.

She is survived by four children, including Kevin Coyle and his wife, Linda, of Newtown; ten loving grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a realtor working for some of the larger offices in the area, and was a member of the Danbury Board of Realtors for 25 years. Mrs Coyle was formerly president of the Friends of the Library, a volunteer fundraiser for Regional Hospice, and a member of St Joseph Church. She was honored as the Woman of the Year by the Women’s Club of Brookfield in 1998, and The League of Women’s Voters Unsung Hero for her years of service to Regional Hospice and her lasting impact on the lives of hundreds of cancer patients and the community as a whole.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 29. Interment followed in Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
