Charles “Chuck” Seibold of Connecticut died peacefully at home June 26, with his devoted wife Marjorie at his side. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1936, and was the eldest son of the late Dorothy and Charles Seibold.

His loving wife of 28 years; his daughters, Diana Baxter, and husband Steve, of Sandy Hook, Carol Wise, and her husband Jeff, of Newtown, and Susan Garrison of Oxford; his stepdaughter, Jennifer Shairer, and husband Craig, of Trumbull; his beloved grandchildren, Hannah and Ally Shairer, Keith Baxter, Kim and Katelyn Wise, and Micaela and Sean Garrison; and a niece and two nephews survive Mr Seibold. In addition to his parents, his brothers, John and George, predeceased him.

Mr Seibold had great respect for the military and served honorably in the National Guard. He was employed by New York Life Insurance for 59 years. Mr Seibold loved his career and always enjoyed what he did, so that it never seemed like work to him. His clients knew this and reciprocated his love and respect.

He loved the great outdoors and was “one with nature” as an avid hunter, fisherman, archer, and marksman. He shared his great enthusiasm for his hobbies and interests with family and friends, and always had great stories to tell about his adventures.

Mr Seibold lived by his favorite quote from Winston Churchill, and began each day by reciting it: “Never – Never – Never Give Up.” That quote ruled his life to the very end.

Friends may greet the family Saturday, July 18, from 11 am to 2 pm, in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, followed by a service celebrating his life at 2 pm, in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the National Rifle Association of America, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax VA 22030; or  Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center at www.mskcc.org.
