The Babe Ruth 15-Year-Old All Stars will be hosting the District 4 Tournament starting Saturday with three games at Walnut Tree Field and one game at Newtown High School. Aspetuck, Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford and Ridgefield will all send teams to battle for the District 4 championship.

The tournament is double elimination, which will continue all week leading up to the finals on Friday at 5 pm at Walnut Tree.

The Newtown team vying for the title will include Charlie Coates, Pete Meisel, Tony Willie, Ryan Chapin, Joe Gantert, Ted Rocca, Tim Barrett, Jeremy Graves, Chris Evans, Adam Fisher, Jeff LaFLamme, Tim LaPak and John Mascolo.

The team will be managed by Frank Rocca and coaches by Joe Gantert, Rob Fisher and Tod Willie.

Newtown will open the tournament against Aspetuck on Saturday at 1 pm at Walnut Tree. Bethel will battle New Milford and New Fairfield will battle Brookfield at 10 am (at the high school) while Danbury will take on Ridgefield at 4 pm at Walnut Tree.

Losers bracket play begins Sunday at 2 pm.

The 13-year-old District 4 tournament will also begin on Saturday, with Newtown squaring off against Bethel at 2 pm. Aspetuck, Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, and Ridgefield also have teams in this age bracket.

The 14-year-old District 4 tournament will begin next Friday, July 14, with Newtown battling New Fairfield at the Danbury High School junior varsity field and Danbury facing New Milford at the DHS varsity field at 5 pm.

Play in both tournaments continues on Sunday and Saturday, respectively.
