Jean A. Silvestro, 81, of Sandy Hook died July 2 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 7, 1932, in Westport, daughter of Amy and Michael Gilbertie.

In addition to her husband of 55 years, Albert, a daughter, Diana Stewart, and husband Gary; sons Larry Silvestro, and wife Katya Ilina, and Michael Silvestro, and wife Suzanne; her brothers Ralph and Michael Gilbertie; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews survive Mrs Silvestro. Her brotherJulius predeceased her.

Mrs Silvestro will be remembered for being a loving mother and grandmother, an amazing cook, a devoted friend, and as a woman always thinking of others before herself. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, and she will be missed greatly by all who survive her.

Her family would like to thank her caregivers at the Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut, as well as the wonderful staff of Nursing Services, who provided constant kindness and attention, as well as peace, during her last days.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will take place Tuesday, July 8, at 10:30 am, at St Rose Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown.

Cremation Services of Western Connecticut, 55 Main Street, Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.
