Newtown 2, Weston 1 – Matt Myslewski and Charlie Coates combined to scatter six hits and lead Newtown to the win. Myslewski, Ryan Chapin and Scott Newberry had two hits apiece while Coates belted a stand-up triple. Brian Hunt, Sean Reilly, Mark Fracker and Joe Coates all had hits.

Newtown 4, Southbury 2 – Mark Fracker scattered three hits in five innings of work and Coates added two innings of no-hit relief to lead Newtown to the win. Fracker and Ted Rocca had two hits apiece while Sean Reilly and Doug Bonjour had hits, as well.

Newtown 6, Danbury (#2) 4 – Mark Fracker and Matt Myslewski tripled while Graham Philbrick doubled (as did Fracker) to power Newtown past Danbury. Tony Willie, Joe Coates and Mark Maruschak all singled. Fracker pitched five strong innings and Coates picked up the save with two innings of relief work.

Newtown 7, Danbury 2 (Jimmy Fund) – Max Muraskiewicz pitched five innings of two-hit ball, leading Newtown to the win. Rickey Gallucci had a bases-clearing triple while Jake Devellis, Matt Mascolo and Mickey Fay had two hits apiece. Robert Brautigam played well in right field.

Newtown 5, Beth-Wood 0 (Jimmy Fund) – Jake Devellis pitched four scoreless innings, whiffing six batters to lead Newtown to the win. Chris Marks sparked the defense with a great catch in centerfield. Brett LeBlanc, meanwhile, belted a pair of home runs (one a three-run blast) to lead the offense.

American League

 

Newtown Hardware 3, Walsh Logging & Mulch 1 – Max Muraskiewicz, Rickey Gallucci and Mitch Blomberg combined to hurl a three-hitter and lead Newtown Hardware to the win. Muraskiewicz also had two hits and scored two runs while Jason Kostecki banged out a pair of hits. For Walsh, Brian Murphy and Nick Ryder had nice hits while Mickey Fay pitched well. Dan Quinn made some solid plays in the field.

Newtown Hardware 7, Brautigam Land Surveyors 2 – Rickey Gallucci belted a grand slam homer to lift Newtown Hardware to the win. Mike Bunger and Jason Kostecki made great plays in the field. For Brautigam, Charlie LoBosco pitched well and had a nice double.
