Help Fairy Tale Theater Celebrate Tenth Anniversary Season

DANBURY —Mother Goose is celebrating a decade of story telling through children’s theater. The popular Fairy Tale Theater troupe will celebrate a decade of storytelling this year, performing a new original play each Saturday during July.

Fairy Tale Theater is a group within the Musicals at Richter family. All performers are youth from nearby towns, including Newtown and Sandy Hook. Each show is custom-adapted for today’s audiences from a classic fairy tale.

Performances begin at 11 am. Children are invited to arrive at 10:30 to work on a craft project and meet Mother Goose. During the interactive shows, Fairy Tale Theater’s author-director includes children of all ages in the action. Children learn to be good audience members, enjoy an intermission snack, and even meet cast members afterwards.

“Every season with a non-profit community theater project is a gift,” said author and director Elyse Jasensky. “I’m tickled to return as writer-director and to play the role of Mother Goose.”

The 2008 season includes July 5, Jack and the Beanstalk; July 12, The Frog Princess; July 19, The Princess & the Pea and Puss in Boots (a double feature); and July 26, Alice in Wonderland.

Tickets are $5 each, sold the morning of each show. Audience members must bring chairs or a blanket to sit on. For information call 748-MUSE (6873) or visit MusicalsAtRichter.org.
