U12 Teams Claim District Titles

Both of Newtown’s U12 baseball teams (The Newtown Blue 70-foot division team and Newtown Gold 60-foot team) won district championships this past week and will play in their divisional state championships beginning on Saturday, July 5. Newtown is the host of the 2008 60-foot Connecticut State Championship Tournament which runs July 5-13. The top 12 teams in the state will come to Newtown to compete for the right to represent Connecticut in the New England Regional Championship beginning July 19 in Kingston, Mass.

The 70-foot Connecticut State Championship Tournament will be held in Southbury July 5-11 and is an eight-game tournament from the top districts around the state. The winner represents the state in the 70-foot New England Regional Championship, beginning July 19 in Merrimack, NH.
