Thursday, June 24: 10:01 am, fire alarm–commercial, South Main Street, Botsford and Hook & Ladder responded; 10:29 am, wires burning/arcing, Brushy Hill Road, Hook & Ladder responded; 10:31 am, tree/wires down, Sugar Street, Dodgingtown responded.

Friday, June 25: 9:59 am, fire alarm–commercial, Glen Road, Sandy Hook and Hook & Ladder responded; 12:42 pm, motor vehicle accident (MVA) with injury, South Main Street, Botsford responded; 2:26 pm, standby/mutual aid, Luther Drive, Southbury, Sandy Hook responded; 4:56 pm, medical assist, Engleside Terrace, Sandy Hook responded; 6:11 pm, medical assist, Brushy Hill Road, Botsford responded.

Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue, and Connecticut State Police troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-84 East just west of the Exit 11 off-ramp around 4 pm Tuesday, June 29. According to the police report, Decosy D. Hercules, 31, of Lakewood, N.J., was operating the 2015 Mercedes-Benz GL5 shown here and failed to stop for traffic in front of him. The front of the Mercedes struck the rear of a trailer being towed by William J. Pomery, 19, of Walton, N.Y., who was driving a 2019 Ford Escape. No injuries were reported to either driver, nor to their passengers. Hercules was given a verbal warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, resulting in a motor vehicle accident. —Bee Photo, Hicks
