Chad Joseph Bojnowski

Chad Joseph Bojnowski, 43, of Newtown died unexpectedly at Danbury Hospital July 1. He was born January 31, 1972, in Charleston, W.V., to Joseph Bojnowski and the late Kathryn Kovarovic Lorence Bojnowski.

He attended Newtown Schools, graduating in 1991. Mr Bojnowski went on to complete a five-year apprenticeship program in pipefitting, ultimately achieving status as an advanced journeyperson with the Connecticut Plumbers & Pipefitters UA 777. He earned a number of licenses: P2 - Plumbing license, S2 – Heating and Cooling license, and Medical Gas license. He returned to college where he received a degree in accounting and business management from American Intercontinental University, graduating with honors.

His parents, Joseph and Jane Bojnowski of Newtown; his three children, Julianna, Jacob, and Jenna of Middletown; his brothers, Perry James, and his wife Deirdre, of Brewster, N.Y., and John Bojnowski, and his wife Leah, of Albany, N.Y.; sisters Wendy Bojnowski of Atlanta, Ga., and Laura Ryan, and her husband Robert, of Wilton; and seven nieces and nephews survive Mr Bojnowski.

He was devoted to his children and loved them deeply. He was a passionate, lifelong learner and was eager to converse on a wide variety of subjects. Among his many hobbies were skiing, gardening, and home improvement projects. He was compassionate and always willing to give a helping hand, especially to those often overlooked in our society. Volunteering was a given for Mr Bojnowski, whether at places like soup kitchens or Goodwill, or by helping his neighbors at Nunnawauk Meadows. He was a part of a caring community at Nunnawauk, where he volunteered for the lunch and food service program, the community garden, and other projects. He was gentle soul to all.

His children will remember him as a kind and caring parent who encouraged them to pursue their dreams with hard work and perseverance. As a person of great faith, Mr Bojnowski regularly attended church with them, and saw to their religious education.

Calling hours will take place Monday, July 13, from 5 to 8 pm, at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. His funeral service is scheduled for 1:30 pm, Tuesday, July 14, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main Street, Newtown. The Reverend Kathleen Adams-Shepherd, rector, will be celebrant at the service. A reception will follow at Trinity in the Glover Undercroft. After the service he will be laid to rest at the Newtown Village Cemetery.
