Richard William Miller, 89, of Brookfield, beloved husband of Jaqueline (Hill) Miller, died July 5 at Bethel Healthcare. He was born February 7, 1925, in Danbury, son of Edna May (Venning) and Raymond A. Miller.

Along with his wife of 69 years, he will be sadly missed by his daughter Bonnie Miller of Newtown, and his son Jeffrey Miller, DVM, and his wife Lisbeth, of Wolcott; his grandchildren Gretchen Beardmore, and her husband John, of Wolcott, Nathan Miller, and his wife Michelle, of Blackstone, Mass., and Ian Miller, and his wife Stephanie, of Wells, Maine; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Four sisters, Myrtle Smith McPhee, Evelyn Chester, Jean Clark, and Ruth Morganti; and one brother, Raymond Miller, Sr, predeceased Mr Miller.

As a young man, he was employed by Penfield, Outpost Nursery, and then spent 55 years working for Venning Riggers and Building Movers.

He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Mr Miller was very fond of his champion Flemish Giant rabbits and took great pleasure in showing them.

He was well liked and respected by the people he worked with and will be sadly missed by many.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, at 11 am, at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury. Burial will follow at Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. Calling hours will take place Wednesday, July 9, from 4 to 7 pm, at Cornell Memorial Home.
