Work is underway for turning part of the natural grass practice field into a multi-purpose artificial turf field behind Newtown High School. Newtown Parks and Recreation workers were busy digging and leveling the land as the calendar turned from June to July. Turf is expected to be put in place later in the summer, in time for the fall football season. This project is a collaborative effort between the Newtown High School Athletic Department, Newtown Youth Football & Cheer, Newtown Youth Lacrosse, and Newtown Parks and Recreation.
