Stephen A. White, 57 passed away Monday, July 13, after suffering a severe stroke and battling many cases of pneumonia for more than a year.

Steve was a loving father to his three children, Brian, 27, Tim, 19, and Anna, who is 15. Since they were born, Steve’s unwavering passion and commitment had been for his children; for giving them every happiness and opportunity that he had wished for in his life. This passion and love for his children spread to his friends and colleagues who adored him. Everyone who knew Steve loved and respected him.

He was graduate of Bucknell University and received his master’s degree from Duke University.

Professionally, Steve’s career started at Johnson & Johnson as a financial analyst. After grad school, he became a brand manager at M&M Mars, which then led to a career with Nabisco, Crayola, and eventually Pepperidge Farm as the Global VP for cookies and crackers. Steve's talent was in building brands and turning around underperforming businesses to drive strong revenue and earnings growth. After many years at Pepperidge Farm he was then led to Utz Snack Foods in Hanover, Penn., where he was the Senior VP/Chief Marketing Officer. Steve had a gluten allergy and the irony of not being able to eat any of the foods he promoted was not lost on him! He had an amazing sense of humor and a very dry, quick wit.

In addition to his children, Steve is survived by his siblings Paul, Christine, and Virginia; and the mother of his children, Susan. Susan’s love and compassion for Steve and their three children proves what real unconditional love is. Her determination to get him the best possible care while receiving treatments for cancer 10 years ago and while he was trying to recover from his stroke provided peace of mind for Steve and for his children. His passing would not have been as peaceful without her unwavering efforts.

Steve’s family will hold a memorial service for friends and family on Saturday, July 18, at Susan’s home.
