NewArts is seeking performers to entertain an audience for one Sunday afternoon this summer.

A live, all-ages cabaret is being planned for Sunday, August 1, on the outdoor stage at Newsylum Brewery, 36 Keating Farms Avenue (in the Fairfield Hills campus). Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be available in addition to the brewery’s regular offerings.

The theme of the cabaret is “Legends: from LaBelle to Lupone.” Performers are invited to select any song they love by anyone they consider a musical legend. Instrumentalists are also invited to perform on their own or to back others.

Registration can be done via the NewArts Facebook page; search for the July 5 post, which includes a link to a Google Doc. Performers will be asked to provide their name, a contact e-mail for themselves or a parent/guardian, the name of their legend and why they selected that person, and the song they plan to perform.

For additional information, contact NewArts Director of Operations Ryan Loucks at rloucks@1214foundation.org.

Registration is requested by noon Wednesday, July 21.

Volunteers are also sought for non-performing opportunities. Anyone interested in helping behind the scenes should contact Loucks at the e-mail above.
