Nearly 90 people responded to the latest weekly question offered via Facebook, where we asked readers to tell us the best ice cream flavor.

A new question is posted on The Newtown Bee’s Facebook page weekly. Readers are encouraged to check facebook.com/thenewtownbee for the latest. Responses may be used for future coverage.

For the question posted on July 13, most went with just their favorite flavor. Others took an opportunity to offer shout-outs to their location of choice to get that delicious treat.

Favorite flavors ranged from Black Raspberry, Birthday Cake, Caramel Craze, Cherry Vanilla, Chocolate Chip (or “just plain vanilla chocolate chip,” one reader asserted), Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough/Cookie Dough, Chocolate Swirl, Coffee, and Cookies & Cream to Maple Walnut, Mocha Fudge Almond, Pumpkin, Peppermint Stick, Pistachio, Sour Cherry with Dark Chocolate Chunks, Sunset on the Peach/peaches and cream, Rum Raisin, Strawberry, and Sweet Cream.

Mint Chocolate Chip was the answer from many responders.

One reader went with frozen pudding.

Newtown’s two longstanding locations were each highlighted within answers.

Ferris Acres Creamery on Sugar Street received a lot of support, as did Holy Cow Ice Cream on Church Hill Road.

Ferris’s Bada Bing, Black Raspberry (with chocolate sprinkles, notes Elisabeth Douglass), Coffee, Cookie Jar, Cow Tracks, Elvis’s Dream, Paradise Found, PB Squared, Raspberry Chunk Swirl, Route 302 Chocolate Moo, Salty Cow, and White House were all named among the responses.

Route 302 Chocolate Moo, one of the Creamery’s original flavors, received multiple accolades.

William Arndt isn’t picky about flavor, just his location of choice.

“Whatever flavor I’m eating at that rare time,” he said, “but always at Ferris Acres Creamery.”

For Holy Cow, named flavors included Almond Joy, Father Bob, and Minty Monster.

Dr Mike’s in Bethel and Rich Farm in Oxford also received love from our Facebook followers, with both locations being called out for some of their ice cream creations.

Tim Hoeffel kept it simple when he responded “French Vanilla [from] Big Y!”

Donna DeMarco and Chris Stites may have had the perfect answers, however. DeMarco said “It’s ice cream: It’s all good!” while Stites noted that the best tasting ice cream “is free ice cream!”

Readers shared not only their favorite ice creams, they also gave shout-outs to their favorite ice cream providers when responding to the latest Newtown Bee Weekly Question. The MJ Rell, Ferris Acres Creamery’s version of mint chocolate chip, with dark chocolate chunks and green sprinkles, was cited by multiple readers as a favorite. —Bee Photos, Hicks
Holy Cow Ice Cream Shop was also named by readers responding to our latest weekly question. This cup is holding two favorites: one scoop of Minty Monster, a mint base with cookies and cream and cookie dough, over a scoop of Father Bob, a mix of toasted almond ice cream with toasted coconut and Butterfinger candy mixed in.
