Volunteers Needed For Book Sale

To the Editor:

Book sale time is fast upon us at the Booth Library. Many volunteers have been working all year getting ready for our annual sale, but more help is needed now to arrange and set up over 150,000 books and 12,000 records. This is a huge undertaking and many extra hands are needed. If you like books, this is the place for you!

First, we need help for table setup on Monday, August 4, in Bridgeport Hall at the Fairfield Hills campus. We will begin at 7 pm and work till 9 pm. If you can spare a few hours, please join us. We especially need some strong people to lift and move boxes.

Second, we again need help for setting up the second group of tables on Monday, August 18 from 7 pm to 9 pm.

Third, the volunteers will be working Monday through Thursday from 10 am to noon and again from 7 to 9 pm from August 4 through August 28 setting up the books.

Finally, if you can work during the sale, which will be held Saturday, August 30, through Wednesday, September 3, please call the library at 426-5433 or sign up at the main circulation desk at the Library.

By the way, Newtown has to be the most literate town around judging by the volume and quality of books that we receive as donations. Thanks, Newtown, for your support! See you at the Book Sale!

Thank you,

Joanne E. Zang
