The Newtown Tennis Association released the draw for the 2000 Bertram Stroock Tennis Tournament this week. Martin West (364-0894) is the tournament director and will be the person to call with results of each individual match.

The Newtown Tennis Association released the draw for the 2000 Bertram Stroock Tennis Tournament this week. Martin West (364-0894) is the tournament director and will be the person to call with results of each individual match.

Semi-finals and finals are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 26 and 27, at Dickinson Park.

Men’s Open Singles

 

1. Bob Elliott

2. Tom Conrod

3. Brian Leavitt

4. Bill Meier

Bob Elliott receives a bye; John Klopfenstein versus Tim Hanley; Brian Leavitt versus Brian Russell; Steve Bigham versus Gil Fong; Frank Barchi versus Curt Logan; Bruce Ratcliffe versus Bill Meier; Hugh Lavery versus Leon Barkman; Jeff White versus Tom Conrod. (First-round play should be done by August 13 and second-round play by August 20)

 

Women’s Open Singles

 

1. Katie Lavery

2. Julie Stern

Katie Lavery receives a bye; Dawn Nacewicz receives a bye; Diane Wenick versus Teresa Kennedy; Julie Stern receives a bye. (First-round play should be done by August 20)
