At The Newtown Bee, we are working on articles every week for our readers’ education and enjoyment, and subscribers get the first — and sometimes exclusive — look at stories in print. Being the middle of the summer, many local boards and commissions have canceled their regular meetings. There is still plenty of news to share in your hometown paper, however.

Among the items in the works for the edition of August 6, 2021 is a recap of an outdoor cabaret presented Sunday afternoon by NewArts; a feature about a Sandy Hook hockey player drafted by the NHL; coverage of local sports camps; a story about the recently approved contract for Newtown's dispatchers; and a conversation with a Cape Cod-based marine debris artist and portrait photographer who recently presented a program via Zoom hosted by C.H. Booth Library.

We are also continuing to monitor the latest updates on COVID-19, the spikes in the Delta variant, and what all of this means for local residents

There are plenty of stories and breaking news posted to newtownbee.com, but you’ll find full coverage in our print edition. For complete news about Newtown, join our subscribers in being in the know (https://classadz.vdata.com/Legacy/NewtownBee/Circulation/Subscriber/).
