Paul Deshaies

Former Newtown School System Custodian

Paul J. Deshaies, 89, husband of the late Aida Deshaies of Newtown, died July 29 in Danbury Hospital. He was born in St Marie, Quebec, Canada on September 16, 1916, a son of Zepherine and Josephine (Boisvert) Deshaies.

Mr Deshaies is survived by two brothers, Armand and Jocko Deshaies; and a sister, Lillian Marquis, all of Lawrence, Mass; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr Deshaies was raised and educated in Lawrence, Mass. During WWII, he served in the US Army in Panama City, Panama. From 1977 to 1992, Mr Deshaies was employed as a psychiatric aide at Fairfield Hills Hospital. He was then employed as a custodian for the Newtown School System until his retirement in 1999.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery will be private.
