Motorcycle Ride To Benefit Easter Seals Program

HEBRON — Hundreds of bikers will be revving their engines and touching the hearts of thousands of individuals with disabilities, as TSI Columbia Harley-Davidson and Easter Seals Connecticut-Rhode Island presents the First Annual Motorcycle Poker Run on October 2.

Registration will be held at TSI Columbia Harley Davidson’s new location at 8 Commerce Drive in Columbia. From there riders and passengers will travel 60 miles through northeastern Connecticut, arriving at their final destination of Easter Seals Camp Hemlocks, in Hebron. The ride begins at 11 am.

At Easter Seals Camp Hemlocks, all riders and passengers will be treated to a wrap-up party, a barbecue, a live DJ (who is a longtime recipient of Easter Seals’ services), prizes, and other activities. All riders will get a chance to meet and interact with some of the individuals that participate in the Easter Seals programs and services that the ride will support. There are incentive prizes for individuals who go the “extra mile” and complete additional fundraising; ranging from commemorative pins and cooler chairs, to gift certificates and leather jackets.

There will also be a poker game added to the day’s festivities. All participants will receive a card upon registration. They will then stop at three rest areas along the route to pick up additional cards. The final card will be given at the wrap-up party, and prizes will be awarded for best hand and worst hand.

Event sponsorships are still available. Registration donations are $25 per rider or $40 with a passenger. Participants may register online at www.ct.easterseals.com or call Easter Seals CT-RI at 888-673-3443.
