To the Editor,

I would like to thank the members of the Rotary Club of Newtown, who on August 3 extended to me the unexpected and great honor of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award for contributions to the community during my years as reporter (2005-2016) and editor (2016-2021) of The Newtown Bee.

I am humbled to receive this award, and do so knowing that it is because of the valuable contributions of many Newtown residents that this paper — and thus, myself — can contribute to this town.

Thank you, also, to Newtown Bee Publisher R. Scudder Smith, newly appointed Newtown Bee Editor John Voket, the staff of The Newtown Bee, and all of the residents of Newtown who made my positions at the paper remarkable and memorable.

This award is all of ours.
