Endorses Laroche
To The Editor:
I am voting for Amybeth Laroche for State Senate. She is not beholden to Governor Lamont.
Her opponent, Rob Blanchard, is Governor Lamont's director of communications. I would like to know how a member of the governor's office is going to be an independent voice for the 28th State Senate district. It is as pure a conflict of interest as I have ever seen to serve as a legislator for Newtown, Fairfield, Bethel, and Easton while his paycheck is coming from the governor.
I have searched high and low for any public statement by him that if he is elected, he will resign his job, and not take any other job, in the executive branch of Connecticut's government. His website does not address his conflict.
Amybeth is a fighter, willing to take on the odds in what the talking heads say will be a Democrat year. The 28th can be different. We have a long-standing history of good Republican representation. Lets elect a senator who has the positions and values which I believe we share in Newtown.
