The Connecticut Probate System is undergoing changes that will result in the consolidation of several towns into one regional probate office. Ridgefield, Redding, Bethel, and Newtown will all become one district. This means that one judge will be elected to handle all the probate needs of these towns. A probate judge does more than oversee the administration of a will or trust. They are involved in adoption and issues concerning children and the mentally challenged.

The person elected will need to have experience, compassion, and a good deal of knowledge about the courts and how they function.

Joe Egan has been practicing law for 39 years. He is a husband, a father, and grandfather with the personal values and experience to handle organizing and running this new probate district. Joe knows the concerns and challenges families face every day and is professional and compassionate.

Joe’s credentials for the job outshine all the other candidates in this election. He has the background and experience of being a practicing attorney for 39 years concentrating on real property and probate law. He’s been a judge of probate for more than 20 years. Joe has been a member of the National College of Probate Judges and served as president of this same organization. He has served on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Probate Assembly and on the Editorial Board of the Quinnipiac Probate Law Journal. He has been a noted speaker before the Connecticut Probate Assembly and the Connecticut Bar Association.

In his personal life, Joe was one of the original incorporators and was a director of the Ridgefield Boys and Girls Club for ten years. In addition, he actively participated in community youth sports, like Little League, Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading, and Pony Colt Baseball in Ridgefield.

The primary is August 10. Now is the time to step up and make sure Joe Egan’s name is on the ballot in the November election. He is truly the right man for the right job.

Very truly yours,

Kathy Kaminski
