A memorial service to celebrate the life of Griffin Paynter, who died earlier this year, is being indefinitely postponed.

Griffin, 25, lived much of his life in Newtown. He was living in Forney, Texas, when he died on March 11, 2020.

A music enthusiast, among many other things, Griffin was going to be honored during a celebration this month at Dickinson Park that was to include an open mic for sharing. Due to the continued coronavirus pandemic, however, Griffin’s family has decided to postpone that event.
