Occupation: I am a tax manager at a small CPA firm in Fairfield.

Family: My family consists of me, my husband, Dan, and our almost 15-year-old daughter, Rachel, who will be a sophomore at the high school.

Pets: We have a 9-year-old puggle named Chloe who we adopted from a local rescue organization when she was a puppy.

How long have you lived in Newtown? Dan and I moved to Sandy Hook in 2003 after living in Danbury for several years.

What do you like to do in your free time? When I have some free time, I enjoy reading, trying new restaurants, baking, and sewing.

What do you like to read? My favorite authors for summertime beach reads are Elin Hilderbrand and Dorothea Benton Frank. Lately my favorite genre has been historical fiction.

What is your favorite travel destination? I enjoy traveling, although we have not been able to do much travel for the past few years. I think that my favorite place we have been to so far is Bermuda.

What is the best part about Newtown? The best part of Newtown is the community. People here are so willing to help their neighbors if needed.

What organizations are you part of in Newtown? I recently began serving a term as vice president of the Newtown High School Band Parents Corporation. Our daughter is part of the color guard.

What has been the greatest influence in your life? The greatest influences in my life have been the adversities I have faced. Each one has shown me how to be strong and how to help others who may go through something similar in the future.

If you could spend the day with one person, who would you choose and why? If I could spend the day with one person, I would want one more day with my sister. She passed away two years ago from metastatic breast cancer. I’d like to spend the day making our favorite foods from childhood and hearing stories about her many adventures.

Who is your favorite musical artist? Billy Joel is my favorite musical artist.

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? Don’t expect others to do something you wouldn’t do yourself.

What is something you cannot live without? I cannot live without chocolate and a good book.

What is your proudest accomplishment? My greatest accomplishment has been, and continues to be, raising my daughter to be a strong and kind person.
