Selectmen Change Their Meeting Place
Starting in February, the Board of Selectmen will begin meeting in the
multi-purpose/senior center building on Riverside Road in Sandy Hook.
First Selectman Bob Cascella said the decision to move from the Town Hall
South conference room was prompted by the pending closure of the Main Street
building and the subsequent move by town employees who work there to Canaan
House on the campus of Fairfield Hills.
Also, the selectmen agreed to schedule two meetings per month with the option
to cancel one of them if there is no business. In December, Mr Cascella had
suggested trimming the number of meetings to one per month, something former
first selectman Jack Rosenthal said worked quite well during his terms in
office.
