P&Z Considers Botsford Residential Development Plan
Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) members plan to inspect a large parcel in
Botsford eyed for residential development before taking action on a requested
resubdivision for the property.
James V. Massey has submitted a request for a resubdivision of Lot 22 and
other property in the vicinity of the Rollingwood residential development. He
is seeking the creation of 17 lots on 274 acres. The property is located north
of New Lebbon Road, near High Bridge Road and Marlin Road. The P&Z conducted a
public hearing on the request November 16.

Massey at the hearing, according to commission records.
Sarah Jeffrey of 1 Old Mill Road, representing the Kazan family, said the
family which owns approximately 250 acres in the vicinity eyed for new housing
is concerned about increased development there changing the nature of the
area.
Ken Donahue of 1 Beagle Trail expressed concerns about increased traffic in
the area stemming from new development.
Barbara Donahue, of the same address, voiced concern about road conditions for
school buses in the area when there is inclement weather.
Five other area residents also experessed various concerns about roads and
traffic in the face of increasing development.
Marilyn Pijeaud of 4 Beagle Trail expressed concern about hunters in the area.
She also asked if the developer would do anything to resolve illegal dumping
problems and abandoned automobile problems in the area, as well as dealing
with people who drive dirt bike motorcycles there.
Mr Spath responded that dumping problems are less serious than they have been
in the past.
Commission action on the resubdivision request is expected at an upcoming
meeting.
