OBITS (Pagliaro; Tiberus; Gibson; Marcinek)
Elizabeth Pagliaro
Elizabeth (Betty) Pagliaro, 81, of Trumbull, died April 25 peacefully in her
home. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Szakasc) Tozser.
She was the sister of Steven Tozser of Newtown.
Born January 23, 1918, in Bridgeport, she resided in Trumbull for 46 years.
She retired from Bryant Electric, where she worked for over 40 years. She was
a member of their Quarter Century Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Stephen Pagliaro, and also by a
niece, Susan Bosse. In addition to her brother, survivors include her sister,
Marion Hmursik of Stratford; an aunt, Rose Damsky of Stratford; an uncle,
George Szakasc of Pennsylvania; two nieces, Priscilla Vayan of Newtown, and
Shirleyann Ryan of Stratford; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews and
great-great-nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held at St Theresa's Church, Trumbull, on April 28, for a Mass
of Christian Burial. Interment was in Lawncroft Burial Park, Fairfield.
The Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport, was in charge of
arrangements.

Paul De Tiberus
Paul De Tiberus, 47, husband of former Newtown resident Margaret (Craven) De
Tiberus of 84 Lake Shore Drive, Pine Bush, N.Y., died April 26, in Ellenville
Hospital, Ellenville, N.Y.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., August 21, 1951, he was a son of Nancy (Brisco) De
Tiberus of West Palm Beach, Fla., and the late Victor De Tiberus. Mr De
Tiberus was a resident of Pine Bush the past 13 years and was employed as a
building contractor. He was a former member of the Middleburg Lions Club in
New York. Mr De Tiberus was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the US Marines
for three years.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mr De Tiberus is survived by three
daughters, Dacia De Tiberus of Philadelphia, Penn., Paula De Tiberus of Howes
Cave, N.Y., and Danielle De Tiberus of Boston, Mass.; two brothers, Douglas De
Tiberus of Port Richey, Fla., and Dennis De Tiberus of Belrose, N.Y.; and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held April 29 from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main
Street, Newtown, and in St Rose Church for a Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.

Neva A. Gibson
Neva A. Gibson, 56, wife of Bruce B. Gibson, formerly of Newtown, died April
21 in Washington Township Hospital, Fremont, Calif. She was the mother of
Catha Gibson of Newtown.
Mrs Gibson was born in Klamath Falls, Ore., August 15, 1942, a daughter of the
late John and Leda Gardner. She was a graduate of the University of Washington
and was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.
From 1984 until January of this year, when she moved to California, Mrs Gibson
was a lifelong Girl Scout. She served as a leader at all levels of Girl Scouts
and had served as registrar, delegate chairman, program consultant, and troop
trip coordinator. She was the recipient of the "Hats Off" award for Girl Scout
volunteers. Mrs Gibson also served as a commissioner for the Boy Scouts.
In addition to her husband and daughter, Mrs Gibson is survived by a son,
Robert B. Gibson of Austin, Tex.
A memorial service was scheduled for Thursday, April 29, at 5 pm in the Honan
Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.

Joseph A. Marcinek
Joseph A. Marcinek, 69, of 267 Browning Road, Bozrah, husband of Joyce
(Patane) Marcinek, died April 23 at William W. Bachus Hospital in Norwich. He
was the father of David Marcinek and Marilyn Schettino and the sister of
Regina Bresson, all of Newtown.
Mr Marcinek was born October 23, 1929, in Danbury, the son of the late Joseph
and Edna Marcinek of Newtown. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was
director of radiology at Backus Hospital from 1969 until his retirement in
1991, and a member of Norwich Golf Course.
In addition to his wife, son, daughter and sister, he is survived by two other
sons, Joseph F. Marcinek of Torrington and Stephen Marcinek of Wingdale, N.Y.;
seven grandchildren; one other sister, Marion Marcinek of Palm Bay, Fla; and
several nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 1, at 11 am, at the
Cathedral of St Patrick in Norwich. Burial will be private.
