Town Meeting To Consider Land Swap

Voters at a town meeting Wednesday, November 1, will consider a proposal to

have the town swap municipally-owned land for privately-owned land on Sugar

Lane. The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 pm in the Newtown Middle School

library.

Under the proposal, the town would swap 4,600 square feet of town-owned open

space land on Sugar Lane for 4,600 square feet of land owned by Stephen L.

Koch. The town would use the land acquired from Mr Koch for open space

purposes. Mr Koch has requested the land swap with the town to make his Sugar

Lane property more useful to him.

If the land swap is approved, Mr Koch would be required to provide the town

with a Class A-2 survey of the property at his own expense.
