OBITS (McQuillan; Donnelly; Wright; Federov; Steck; Fekete; Tremalio)
MADELEINE S. McQUILLAN
Madeleine S. McQuillan, age 89, wife of the late Alexander J. McQuillan of
Hanover Road, died October 29 at her home.
She was born in New York City on June 18, 1908, daughter of the late William
and Lucerna Lyon McLaughlin.
She had been a longtime resident of Newtown, first living here as a part-time
resident from New York City, then moving here permanently in the early 1940s.
She was a graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart in New York City and of
the New York School of Art and Design.
A descendent of William Lyon, who emigrated from England to Massachusetts in
1635, she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Employed 25 years until her retirement in 1975, she was an occupational
therapist at Fairfield Hills Hospital.
Long active in community affairs, Mrs McQuillan formerly served on the
Democratic Town Committee, the League of Women Voters, Meals on Wheels and
FISH.
She was a member of St Rose Church and a former member of the St Rose Altar
Society.
Mrs McQuillan is survived by one son, William McQuillan of Cornwall, Vermont;
two sisters, Cora McLaughlin, R.S.C.J., of Greenwich, Ct., and Josephine
Butler of Manchester, N.H.; four grandchildren: Madeleine Fields of Coral
Gables, Fla., Maureen Winger of Orlando, Fla., William McQuillan of Point
Saint Lucie, Fla., and Patrick McQuillan of Cornwall, Vt.; five
great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 am from the Honan Funeral Home at
58 Main Street, Newtown, and at 10:30 am Saturday at St Rose Catholic Church,
where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Interment will be in St Rose Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 3 to 5 pm and from 7 to 9 pm.
Contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

JOHN B. DONNELLY, III
John B. Donnelly, III, 48, brother of Patricia Cain of Newtown, died on
Sunday, October 26, at Glen Hill in Danbury.
Mr Donnelly lived at 6 Hemlock Road in South Salem, N.Y. He previously lived
in Flushing, N.Y. He was the husband of Lora Frank Donnelly.
Born in Astoria, N.Y., on February 26, 1949, he was the son of the late John
B. Donnelly, Jr, and Patricia Bell Donnelly. He was a graduate of
Queensborough Community College, Miami-Dade Junior College, and the Academy of
Aeronautics in Queens, N.Y.
Mr Donnelly and his wife had owned and operated ProntoAire, Inc, since he
established the business in 1983.
He was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the
Experimental Aircraft Association, the Antique Aircraft Association and the
Luscombe Foundation. He was active in the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce and
was a member of St Mary's Church in Ridgefield.
In addition to his wife and sister, his survivors include two brothers, Thomas
Donnelly of South Salem, N.Y., Peter Donnelly of Bethel, and several nieces
and nephews.
Contributions in his memory may be made to Westchester Exceptional Children,

Danbury 06810.
Funeral services were held at St Mary's Church, Ridgefield, on Thursday,
October 30. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.

GLADYS F. WRIGHT
Gladys F. Wright, 66, the sister of Mary Melycher of Newtown, died Sunday at
her home in New Milford.
A lifelong resident of New Milford, she was born on July 3, 1931, a daughter
of Joseph and Annie Cebula Rzchowski.
She was a graduate of New Milford High School.
Mrs Wright was last employed at the M&B IGA Market in New Milford, where she
enjoyed meeting customers.
Her survivors also include two sons, Richard R. Wright of Hyannis, Mass., and
Kevin J. Wright of New Milford; a daughter, Laurie A. Marinelli of Bethel; a
brother, John Rzchowski of New Milford; another sister, Sophie Moon of Rapid
City, S.D.; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Wednesday at Our Lady of the Lakes Church,
New Milford. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
The Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, was in charge of
arrangements.

MILICA FEDOROV
Milica Fedorov, 83, a retired auditor, died Monday at Danbury Hospital.
Mrs Fedorov, of Longview Road, Sandy Hook, was the wife of the late Alexander
Fedorov.
She was born in Riga, Latvia, on February 15, 1914, a daughter of Dimitri and
Nadesda Belaeva Shubersky.
A resident of the United States since 1950, she lived in New York City for
many years before moving to Sandy Hook in 1981. While living in New York City,
Mrs Fedorov was employed as an auditor for the J. Walter Thompson Advertising
Agency.
Mrs Fedorov is survived by a son, Peter Fedorov, and his wife, Inna, and a
grandson, Alexander Fedorov, also of Sandy Hook.
Calling Hours: Thursday from 7 to 9 pm at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main
Street, Newtown. A wake service will be conducted at 7:30 pm.
Services: Friday at 10 am in Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church, Ansonia.
Burial will take place in Zoar Cemetery, Sandy Hook.

DONALD J. STECK
Donald J. Steck, 90, the father of Charleen Swanson of Newtown, died October
23 at JFK Hospital in Atlantis, Fla.
Mr Steck had been a resident of Florida for the past 18 years, where he lived
in Boynton Beach with his wife, Blanche Rumble Steck. Mr and Mrs Steck
celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on June 23.
Born in Danbury on August 17, 1907, he was a son of Albert and Anna Healey
Steck. He was a 1925 graduate of Danbury High School. Mr Steck later graduated
from Niagara University.
Before his retirement, Mr Steck was employed at the US Post Office in Danbury
for 37 years.
While in Danbury, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Danbury
Club. He was also a member of St Peter's Church, where he served as an usher.
Besides his wife and daughter, Mr Steck is survived by another daughter, Donna
Metcalf of Snellville, Ga.; four grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; and
several nieces and nephews.
Services will take place in Boynton Beach with burial in Boynton Beach
Memorial Park.

Louis M. Fekete
Louis M. Fekete, 82, the father of Newtown Police Capt Michael Fekete, died on
Monday, October 27, in Southport.
Born in Bridgeport, Mr Fekete had been a Fairfield resident most of his life
and was the retired owner and operator of the Button Ball Tavern.
He was a World War II US Army veteran, a former Fairfield police officer and a
plant supervisor of Connecticut Chemical in Bridgeport. Prior to owning the
Button Ball Tavern, Mr Fekete founded the Grasmere Radio and TV Repair Shop.
He was a 28-year member of the BPO Elks Lodge 2220, Fairfield.
Mr Fekete was the husband of the late Mary Holecz Fekete. Survivors include
four other sons, Alexander J. Fekete of Huntington, Robert L. Fekete and James
A. Fekete, both of Fairfield, and Thomas L. Fekete of Stratford; three
daughters, Mary Ann Dwinells of Fairfield, Elaine Neverdousky of Dallas, Tex.,
and Kathleen Kucsera of Villa Rica, Ga.; two sisters, Margaret Csovanyos and
her husband, Dr Laszio Csovanyos, of Norwalk, and Olga Wood and her husband,
Arthur Wood, of Miami, Fla.; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 30, at Saint Emery's Church,
Fairfield, with the Rev Robert Nemeth OFM, pastor, officiating. Interment
followed in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
The Spear Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, handled the
arrangements.

ANTHONY M. TREMALIO
Anthony M. Tremalio, 78, the brother of Edith Soderholm of Newtown, died
October 22 in Daytona Beach, Fla., where he had lived since 1978. He is
survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Tremalio.
Born in Bridgeport, Mr Tremalio lived in Fairfield and operated his business,
Allied Shoes and Services, in Norwalk before retiring and moving to Daytona
Beach.
He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Pacific area during World War
II. He was a member of the VFW post in Palm Coast, Fla., and the Pelican Bay
Country Club in Daytona Beach, where he loved to play golf.
Mr Tremalio also is survived by two sons and their wives, Richard and Linda
Tremalio of Fairfield and Dennis and Bronwyn Tremalio of Amsterdam,
Netherlands; and four grandchildren, Brian, Aaron and Leah, all of Fairfield,
and Phoebe of New York City. Mr Tremalio was preceded in death by a son, David
Tremalio.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bellevue Cedar Hill Funeral
Home, 1423 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, Fla.
