ON THE ROAD FOR OCTOBER 17
No tickets yet, but THE WALLFLOWERS will be at WestConn's O'Neill Center
November 23.
Tickets for 311 are available by now, however. A concert by the popular
alt-rock band has been announced for Saturday, November 29, and tickets
go/went on sale Friday morning (Nov 17). O'Neill Center tickets are available
through TicketMaster (744-8100). SUGAR RAY has been picked to open the show,
which begins at 8 pm. Just a reminder: seating at the O'Neill Center is by
general admission.
ADAM SANDLER will also be at the O'Neill Center, on October 21 (next Tuesday).
The comedian, who didn't have rave reviews for his show last summer at The
Meadows in Hartford, will again be doing an all-music performance. Sandler
should stick to the comedy routines, using music as a small aside.
Ready for Christmas? The Meadows is, with a Christmas show planned for
November 29 with AMY GRANT. Michael W. Smith and CeCe Winans will also be
performing. Tickets will be going on sale for this show Saturday (Oct 18).
GREEN DAY will be at The Webster Theatre in Hartford on November 17. Another
new addition to the club's schedule is a return by THE FABULOUS THUNDERBIRDS,
four nights later.
TREADMILL TRACKSTAR was in the city this week - THE city, as in New York, yup.
Among its members is Angelo Gianni, formerly of Newtown. The band was at
Brownie's on Tuesday night, performing as part of a showcase of bands set up
by Atlantic Records.
Treadmill's new album should be out before the end of the month. Release date
right now stands at October 28.
BOX THE COMPASS has a couple of shows coming up in the vicinity. A trio of
shows, actually. The band will be performing at the Bank Street Coffee House
in New Milford on Halloween beginning at 8:30 pm. Next month, the guys will be
at Bassetts Coffee House in Brookfield on November 15, beginning at 8. They
then return to Bank Street for another 8:30 beginning on November 28.
Tickets for the PHISH concert at the Hartford Civic Center next month (Nov 26)
are finally going on sale this weekend. They will be available, through
TicketMaster, beginning Saturday (Oct 18) at 10 am. The concert will begin at
7:30 pm and all seats are $25.
It's crisp outside, the leaves are turning beautiful colors and falling to the
ground, there is frost on the pumpkins each morning... it must be fall. And
yet I can't seem to find that delicious seasonal treat of treats, my Apple Pie
Snapple! It's a travesty! Somebody call Wendy! First they get rid of the
spokeswoman, now the Quaker Company doesn't put out the drink of drinks for
the fall season!!? What is happening to this crazy place we call Earth?!
Until next week, I'll be seeing you... on the road, looking for Snapple.
