Olga Semanco Abriola

Olga Semanco Abriola, age 85, of Southbury and previously of Woodbury, died on Saturday, August 14. Born on November 15, 1935, in Paterson, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Demetry and Anna Kimt Semanco.

She was the loving wife of Dr Salvatore F. Abriola for 61 years. She also leaves a daughter, Karen Lowe (Robert), and children, Devin and Anna Lowe; and a son, Dr Darryl Abriola (Laura), and children, Alexander and Anastasia Abriola. She is also survived by a sister, Katherine, of North Carolina; a brother, Michael, of Florida; a brother, Allen, of New York City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister Julia Belinsky.

Olga was a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University and became a teacher in the Oxford and Monroe Elementary Schools. She volunteered in the school library and with the PTO, the Girl Scouts, and the Boy Scouts. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, gardening, needlework, weaving, and travel. She was a gentle, loving person who will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her.

Funeral services will be private. Contributions in her memory may be sent to the American Heart Association, 2 Brookside Drive, Wallingford CT 06492.
