Deb and Bill Halstead, center, and two of their grandchildren were special guests during the August 28 Labor Day Parade Committee meeting. Mr Halstead, a Sandy Hook native and the longtime chief of Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company, will serve as the Grand Marshal of the 58th Newtown Labor Day Parade on September 2.
