BETHLEHEM — The 90th Bethlehem Fair will be held September 5-7.

The gates open on Friday evening at 5 pm, and guests will enjoy Cruise Night with a 50s, 60s and 70s car show, along with music by The “Cast” of Beatlemania at the main stage at 7.

A pony draw and Bracelet Night will also be highlights on Friday, with unlimited amusement rides from 5 to 10 pm for one price.

In addition, a event will debut on Friday in the wood chopping area: a Timber Team demonstration by students from Wamogo High School, who ax throw, crosscut, bow saw, and log roll.

On Saturday, gates open at 8 am.

Live music will be performed by The Larry Ayce Band at 4 pm and John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band at 8:30 pm, both on the main stage.

Additional events on Saturday include Junior Dairy show, oxen draw, antique tractor pull, CT Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers, wood chopping and sawing contests (chopping, Jack ‘n Jill, ax throwing, and more), farmer’s night out contests (woman’s skillet throwing, back seat driver, three-legged race, barnyard friends), baked goods, canned goods, and quilting. There is also a fried dough eating contest, which has an entry fee of $20 and prizes of $1000, $300, and $200.

For the kids, Kidz Town Rock, with fun and educational music for children of all ages, will be at 2 and 4 pm at the north stage. Dimples the Clown will also be appearing.

On Sunday, gates again open at 8 am. First big event of the day will be a new one: a mini horse pull at 9, with draft horse pull to follow.

Rockabilly and swing music will be performed by The Nick Verrastro Band at 11 am on the main stage.

The day will also include hollerin’ contests for men, women and children; Agri-Olympics contests (cow milking, hay bale throwing, farm chores, egg toss); wood chopping contests, horse show and Gymkhana, Junior beef cattle show, and stock garden tractor pull.

The children’s pedal tractor pull, an age-appropriate hollerin’ contest, Dimples the Clown, and Kidz Town Rock will be special offerings for the younger crowd on Sunday.

All weekend long, ticket-holders will also be able to participate in a scavenger hunt, visit the many animals, see the adult and children’s blue ribbon winners for baked goods, vegetables, canning, hobbies, and many other exhibits, view a scarecrow display, giant pumpkins, and much more.

Plenty of food, a midway and amusement rides and a wide variety of vendors will again be featured during the 90th annual event.

Bridgewater Fairgrounds are at 384 Main Street North (Route 61), Bethlehem.

General admission is $9 for adults, free ages 12 and under when accompanied by an adult, and $7 for senior citizens on Saturday and Sunday.

Season passes are $18 for all three days, and books of ten one-day passes are $70.
