Greek Festival Returning For Labor Day Weekend

ORANGE — Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church will present Odyssey ‘09: A Greek Festival, running this year from Friday, September 4, until Monday, September 7, at St Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road.

This 29th annual festival celebrates Greek food, music and culture. The weekend will feature authentic Greek cuisine, live band and nightly dancing, Greek dance performances, “agora” marketplace (bookstore, arts and crafts, T-shirts, giant flea market, giant raffle, pastries, jewelry and more), cooking demonstrations, church tours and lectures, a kids’ area with games, rides and magic shows, and much more.

The festival runs rain or shine, indoors and out, on ten country acres.

Senior Citizens Day is Friday, September 4: between noon and 3 pm, seniors may take advantage of a 20 percent discount on meals.

New this year will be tours of the brand new St Barbara Social Hall, which will be dedicated in October.

Hours will be noon to 10 pm Friday through Sunday, and noon to 8 pm on Monday, with the raffle drawing to be at 8 on Monday. Admission and parking are free.

Call 203-795-1347 or visit SaintBarbara.org for additional information.
