Head O’ Meadow Elementary School has been named a National PTA School of Excellence for the 2015-17 school years, as announced by the school this week.

The National PTA’s School of Excellence is a program that supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students, according to the National PTA.

The program provides guidance to assist schools in engaging families in the school decisionmaking process, and helps schools build inclusive policies related to education, health, safety or the arts.

This year Head O’ Meadow worked and made progress on improving family engagement in education by increasing the involvement of fathers through its Dads Club and creating a culture and climate that welcomes all families, according to the school's announcement.

Head O’ Meadow Principal Barbara Gasparine said the school recieved the news on August 20.
