Joseph J. Kuczko

Joseph J. Kuczko, 80, of Bethel, husband of Natalie (Tykarski) Kuczko, died August 31, at Danbury Hospital.

An avid outdoorsman, Mr Kuczko was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Newtown Fish and Game Club.

Mr Kuczko was born in Danbury August 19, 1923, a son of the late Isadore and Stella (Wojcik) Kuczko. He was raised in Danbury and attended Danbury schools. A lifelong area resident, he was a retired sheet metal worker with Union Local #38, of Brewster, N.Y.

A decorated World War II US Army Veteran, Mr Kuczko was a member of the Joseph A. Treadwell Post American Legion, the Catholic War Veterans and the Disabled American Veterans, all of Danbury.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by two sons, Joseph E. Kuczko and daughter-in-law Antoinette, of Pine Island, Fla., and Gerard M. Kuczko and daughter-in-law Carol, of New Milford; a brother, Dr Edward P. Kuczko and a sister-in-law Mary Anne, of Danbury; five grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. A granddaughter, Tara Lee Kuczko, and two sons, Ernest Hefferon and John Hefferon, predeceased him.

The Liturgy of the Resurrection was celebrated on September 2 in St Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Grandville Avenue, Danbury, with the Rev Larry Jensen, officiating. Private interment services will take place in St Peter Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.

The Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Grandville Avenue, Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.
