To the Editor:

My name is Angela Curi and I am seeking election to Legislative Council District 1.

I have lived in Newtown since 2009 with my husband and two children. I am delighted with the quality of education my children are receiving in this great town. I am a regular volunteer within our schools and have served as assistant coach to the Youth Cheer Team. Professionally, I have been in sales for the majority of my career.

I seek election because I believe Newtown residents will benefit from the conservative values that I share with many others. I am not, however, running on the basis of party ideals, but rather to be a voice for all taxpayers.

I will employ common sense in fiscal matters that will result in transparent, responsible spending. I will strive to reduce our mill rate and aim to find efficiency within our large budget to achieve that. I see opportunities for our town and education boards to work more collaboratively together for the betterment of all.

I am honored to have been nominated for Legislative Council. I am asking for your vote on November 2 because I am confident that I, as well as my running mates Lisa Kessler and William De Rosa, will be strong and objective servants of the community.
